Oncology Center
Cancer has long been the leading cause of death in Taiwan. In 1996, our hospital set up a ¡§Cancer Management Committee,¡¨ consisting of physician specialist, nurses, nutritionists, social workers, physical therapists, pastoral care and others staff to collaborate on developing a cancer prevention, screening and treatment plan, quality control measures, and set diagnostic and treatment guidelines for all stages of cancer.
In 2005, we participated the Bureau of Health Promotion¡¦s ¡§Quality of Cancer Diagnosis Assurance Project¡¨ and established our ¡§Cancer Prevention and Treatment Center,¡¨ creating an entire department in our hospital dedicated to the case management of cancer patients. We offer outpatient clinics for treating breast cancer, oral cancer, lung cancer, colorectal cancer, liver cancer, and cervical cancer to provide comprehensive cancer treatment and patient services.
The Center strives to provide the people of Chiayi with the highest quality cancer care by promoting cancer prevention education, screenings, in-service education, medical staff training and inter-hospital cooperation, and by continually improving the scope and quality of our service.
